In a continued effort to fund research, the 3rd Annual Sarah’s Cure Benefit Concert / Silent Auction is set for October 11, 2008. The day’s festivities will begin with a 5K run / walk starting at 8 a.m. on the square in historic downtown Decatur. The concert and silent auction, which begins at 4:00 p.m., will be held at the Decatur Civic Center. This year’s event features Texas Singer/Songwriters Bleu Edmondson, No Justice, Max Stalling, Tommy Alverson, and J.D. Clark.
Proceeds from this benefit will go directly towards research and finding a treatment or cure for Galactosemia via Galactosemic Families of the Southern States (GFSS) (www.galactosemiasupport.org), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. In the first two years we have raised over $70,000. We again need to be blessed with your attendance, monetary donations, and auction donations. All donations are tax-deductible and checks should be made payable to “GFSS”.
